My book "07:27:47" was published by Kerber Verlag (Germany) in September 2020. It consists of 76 images, printed in duotone on 160 pages. It was designed by Rikard Österlund and includes a text by Petra Gipp.
All images were taken in Sweden between 2016 and 2020. Sorted by the hour, minute and second of their exposure, they form a sequence that takes place during exactly 12 hours.
Throughout this project, I tried to capture the graphic beauty of ordinary environments by focusing on the strict and minimalist aesthetics that arise in the interaction between light and shadows, people and architecture. Combining it with the immediacy of street photography, it can be seen as a study not only of the urban environment, but also of the relationship between this environment and the human being.
The subjects are all in a state of transition, on a journey from one place to another, in time and in space. As a photographer, I found myself on a similar journey. In my search for locations, I travelled from south to north, from city centres to end-of-the-line suburbia. Somewhere during this process, I began to realise that the external landscapes that I wanted to capture just as much were projections of an internal landscape. Through my camera, I could see its contours emerge, with the city as a backdrop.
The book project was awarded with a grant from the Swedish Author's Fund. It has won prizes at Fine Art Photography Awards, Minimalist Photography Awards, Moscow International Foto Awards, Tokyo International Foto Awards and ND Awards. It was also shortlisted for Hasselblad Masters 2023 and Fotografi's portfolio prize in Norway. It was presented at Paris Photo 2021.
The price is 395 SEK (38 EUR). Feel free to send me a message if you are interested in purchasing a signed copy.
Limited edition prints can also be made upon request.

"The dialogue between concrete and umbra intersect and overlap as sharply and crisply as if Klee or Mondrian had mapped them out. /.../ I was left with the feeling that rarely has such austere landscape exhibited the symbiotic relationship with its creators so elegantly". - Robin Titchener.
"Dahlström’s photos initiate a pursuit of one’s own thoughts, imaginations and experiences and transcend the depicted areas into universal areas of reflection. „07:27:47“ is a sublime and beautiful piece of conceptual photography cast into an equally beautiful book that inspires to take a pause and just think" - Philip Ost.
